I’ve been going to Day Lake every year since I was 16 years old. I am now 63 years old. It truly is a beautiful place that really never changes. That is what I like about it. This year the water has returned to it’s normal level which is good to see after so many years of drought and low water levels. The loons are still there as well as the eagles. Just a beautiful place. Although my last two visits I was not the only one on the lake.

I love this little lake. It’s my favorite place to kayak. We have a couple of cottages on a large popular chain in Vilas County, but my favorite times are when I take my kayak and explore the more out of the way places in the area. This place is only about ten minutes from our summer cabin and you hardly ever meet a soul when you’re there. The water is so clear it’s almost spooky, on a calm day you can see clear to the bottom of the lake. Great picture.
